Ostrołęka lies near the road no 61 that runs from Warsaw to Augustów and farther on to Suwałki and the border point in Ogrodniki. The road no 53 enters the city from the Olsztyn direction which forms a junction with the road no 61. Reaching the city is quite convenient and the Old Town can be reached directly from Siemowit III, Duke of Mazovia’s roundabout driving onto Gen. A. Madaliński’s bridge.
The bus station is located in the city center at ul. Bogusławskiego 21 (the bus timetable is available at www.mobilis.pl). Buses from Warsaw or Olsztyn leave every hour. The time necessary to get to Ostrołęka from these cities is ca. 2.5 hour.
You can reach Ostrołęka by train (www.rozklad-pkp.pl). However, the railway station is located on the city’s outskirts. Access to the city center and travelling within the city’s borders is made possible thanks to the Municipal Transport Company (more information and the buses timetable is available at www.mzk.ostroleka.pl). Bus tickets can be bought at RUCH kiosks.
