The collections of the Kurpie Culture Museum comprise treasures from the four basic areas, i.e. archeology, ethnography, history and art.

There are permanent and periodic exhibits.
  • Thanks to modern exhibiting forms (front display, graphics, electronic equipment, lighting, applications, space sound system) and spaces enabling interaction for the disabled and children, the permanent exhibition at the Kurpie Culture Museum takes visitors on an amazing tour of the inter-war Ostrołęka, whose history dates back to the early Middle Ages, and of neighboring areas of the Kurps whose settlement is rooted in the modern times. The permanent exhibition entitled „Ostrołęka and Kurpie between a thread of history and the background of life” was divided into a few sections. The exhibition presents a picture of festivity and everyday life of Ostrołęka and the area of the Green Kurpie Forest’s inhabitants in the inter-war period, highlighting the economic aspect of people’s existence, and paying special attention to an everyday and holiday life as well as a day cycle. The exhibition tackles issues connected with the history of Ostrołęka, the region and the art and depicts how patriotic anniversaries and family occasions used to be celebrated, it discusses economic aspects of the city, talks about Ostrołęka fairs and everyday life of the people occupying the area of Kurpie.
  • Periodic exhibitions are organized along with permanent exhibitions, thanks to which city dwellers can familiarize themselves with the Ostrołęka Museum’s collections and exhibits collected by other Polish museums.
  • The Monument and Mausoleum of Soldiers Killed in the Ostrołęka Battle on May 26, 1831 - as a result of renewing the monument and mausoleum within the Ponarwie Project, the site has been made available for visitors since 2012; since, the site located on ul. Warszawska 2a in Ostrołęka, has become a part of the Kurpie Culture Museum.
  • The Kurpie Farmstead in Kadzidło is a branch of the Kurpie Culture Museum in Ostrołęka; traditional folk architecture typical of the Kurpie Forest area dating back to the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century is presented there.

Apart from exhibition activity, the Museum also runs educational activities addressed mainly for children and youth concerning lesson organization, museum oriented workshops and regular family events pertaining to history, archeology, and ethnography or concerning annual rites of the Green Kurpie Forest.
