Pryluky
The city of Pryluky lies in the north-central part of Ukraine, on south of Czernihów district, by Udai river, about 135 km from country's capital - Kiev. On the surface of 40 km 2, live about 61 thousand residents. It's an administrative, economic and cultural centre of Pryluky district.
It's also the industrial centre of region. Thanks to the existence of big copmpanies with foreign capital and the dynamic development of little businesses city works out 64% of income of the whole district. Light, alimentary, tobacco, mining, printing and motor industries dominate.
Life and activity of many people known also in our country are connected with the city of Pryluky, like: Mykoła Kostomarow - historian, the author of book "History of Russia”. Mathematician - Georgij Woronin, literature specialists - brothers Wasyl and Sergiej Maslowy, or the composer Lew Rewucki studied in local school. Terrace Szewczenko - greatest ukrainian poet many times visited this city, and now his monument occupies one of central squares.
The agreement of collaboration between Ostrołęka and City of Pryluky in Ukraine was signed on 30 March 2006 by The President of Ostrołęka – Mr. Ryszard Załuska and The Mayor of City Pryluky – Mr. Jurij Berkut.
