Meppen
Meppen is situated in north-west Germany in Lower Saksonia near the Dutch border close to the North Sea. It has a population of 35 thousand residents. There are several industrial plants, ironworks, wood and metal processing plants and food processing plants. Because of the location as well as its infrastructure the way to Meppen is an importantlogistic centre. Moreover, the Town and the surrounding area is a very interesting place for the tourists.
Apart from visiting monuments you can use recreation and cultural centres.
Meppen was our first foreign partner, the initiator was the Mayor of Meppen Wilhelm Mevencamp. Our declaration of co-operation was first signed in 1994.
The most important contract was signed on 30 September 1999. This document was signed by Arkadiusz Czartoryski the President of Ostrołeka and Heinz Jansen the Mayor of Meppenand and Franz Quatmann the Town Director.
