Lagodechi
Lagodekhi – it is a city in the north-eastern part of Georgia, in the Kakheti region. It is located 5 km away from the boarder with Azerbaijan. It lies at the foot of the Lgodekhi National Park situated on the territory of the Greater Caucasus Mountains at the height of between 400 to 3500 m above sea level.
A nature reserve was established in 1912 on the terrain of today’s park. It happened thanks to Ludwik Młokosiewicz – a Pole who wanted to protect its nature rich and diversified terrains. There is Ludwik Młokosiewicz’s grave at the cemetery in Lagodekhi.
The Letter of Intent on the desire for mutual co-operation between the City of Ostrołęka and the Municipality of Lagodekhi was signed on May 27, 2009.
