Partner Towns

Developmnent of foreign relations is one ot the elements of the European integration. Cooperation with cities located in various parts of Europe and the rest of the world offers an opportunity for learning about what unites and divides us. In addition, it is a perfect form of promotion and making acquaintances not only on the level of local administration, but also between various businesses and potential investors.

For several years Ostrołęka has been cooperating with five partner cities, including Meppen of Germany, Alytus of Lithuania, Balassagyarmat of Hungary, Cafelandia of Brazil and Mosty of Belarus. Bilateral contacts comprise joint ventures in the field of sports, culture and economy, exchange of experiences in functioning of local administration institutions as well as youth exchange programs.

Alytus

Alytus - one of the biggest town in the southern part of Lithunia. The town is situated on the Dzukija region on the Niemen river near the Belorussia and Polish border. It covers the area of 40 square km and has a population of 70 thousant (96% of Lithuania). Read more...

Balassagyarmat

Balassagyarmat lies in northern Hungary, in Nógrád area and constitutes the center of administration in Balassagyarmat district. This almost 19 thousand people city lies in the valley of Ipoly river, on Slovakian border, about 90 km north from Budapest. The city stretches for 29 km. Read more...
